Top Of About Us

In April 2000,

We launched our first official Sunday worship service at the Chinese Cultural Centre Of Greater Toronto in Scarborough.

Seven seniors attended.

The church joined the Free Methodist Church in Canada and renamed herself Malvern Chinese Free Methodist Church. Recognizing the presence of many new immigrants, we collaborated with various settlement and healthcare agencies to offer love, care and support to them. By that time, the church had established a senior fellowship, adult fellowship, and children & youth ministries.

With donations from the growing congregation, the church purchased a commercial property and successfully rezoned the land to a place of worship in 2013. This property is located at 22 Esna Park Drive in Markham, and thus, the church changed her name to Markham Free Methodist Church.

In April 2012,

With a spacious 7 acres of land, the church began developing its Children's Ministry in 2012. Establishing a Children's Summer Camp, Kid's Club & Band, and Children's Arts & Crafts activities. The Children's Ministry soon became the core of the church's ministry.

In May 2012,

Through a God-given vision, with a spacious 7 acres of land, we built a community centre adjacent to the church to expand the Kingdom of God and to serve our communities. The construction of the Markham Wesley Centre began in 2012, and upon completion, it quickly became a popular hub for most GTA residents. The centre now boasts over 3,500 registered members and sees a daily usage of over 300 participants.

In August 2018,

The church building expansion was finalized. Now the worship hall can accommodate up to 750 worshippers and the chapel provides seating for 160. During this time, we transitioned to being a non-denominational church and changed our name to Markham Peoples Community Church.
